This exhibition is a mini-retrospective, which includes a group of works created between 2009 and 2022. The artist, the son of parents of Tunisian origin who immigrated to France, was born in Paris and arrived in Israel at the age of six. In the works, we can see Bokobza the child, the teenager, as well as the adult artist, located within familiar or imaginary spaces, based on elements from the local landscape. In a figurative language full and rich in color, and images, and in a childlike and decorative style, Bokobza presents a complex reality, a mixture of East and West. This reality is examined in an encrypted manner. It is full of humor that requires an in-depth reading, both in the personal history of the artist and in the collective history of Israeli society.
